Pineview 02-09-2013

Hit Pineview with Rick. We had to search a little harder this time for the perch, but when we finally found them it was FISH ON!

 Small but tasty perch fillets.

Pineview 01-21-2013

Arrived to a foggy morning at Pineview. Bruce quickly punched six to eight holes, but the fishing was so fast we never left the first holes we let our lines down. We each had our fifty fish limits on the ice within a couple of hours.

Several times we brought up our lines to find a perch on each hook.

The perch were not huge, but they made a tasty meal. It definitely took longer to fillet them then it did to catch them.

Deep Creek 01-05-2013

Rick and I went back up to Deep Creek where we wet up with Bruce for our first fishing trip of 2013. Bruce had already caught some Bow's before we arrived. It was a slow fishing day for us.

The ice had gotten a lot thicker since last time we were there and it was nice to have Bruce's power auger.

Rick and I went to Deep Creek to fish with Bruce, his son Tom, and brother Matt.

In the afternoon it started warming up, and it got a little slushy.

I ended the day with this nice Rainbow.

Henry's Fork 11-02-2012

I can't believe it's going on five months since I blogged last.

Sam and I made a run to the Henry's Fork last November in hopes of catching some big pre-spawn Browns on streamers. We caught a fair number of trout, mostly Rainbows, but no huge Browns. We arrived to a nice crisp fall morning.

Sam didn't waste any time getting down to the water.

After the shadows retreated off the water, it started warming up.

First Brown of the day.

And a health little Rainbow.

These are some of the big streamers we started out casting, latter in the day we scaled down to about 1/3 the size and seamed to do a little better, but these do have there place when the big fish arrive.

Note to self, bend down the barb on this one.

In the afternoon we moved down below the bridge and did  pretty well, catch some nice Browns and Bows, but still no monsters.
