Weber River 05-09-2012

My neighbor Zach recently took up fly fishing, so we made a run to the Weber river. It was a nice day and the river looked really good, but we had a hard time getting the fish to cooperate with us. We ended up catching two or three each, and got in a lot of casting practice.

Varsity Scout Camp 8-18-2011

Zach and I took three varsity scouts on a three day camp out at Current Creek Reservoir. On the way we stopped at the Strawberry Marina to catch Crawdads.

We also cooked some burgers to go with the crawdads.

After dinner we walked down to the lake to fish, with no luck.

Mountain man breakfast in the morning, and then off to kayak and fish.

Jason caught one right off, and then just before getting off the lake I landed one. I really had high hopes of the boys catching some fish. Maybe next time.

The main course. Dave B's dutch oven recipe, chicken wrapped in ham and then bacon, on a bed of rice seasoned with french onion soup and cream of mushroom soup. Good stuff.

We stopped just before the summit on the way home to take some pictures, and the young men hiked up to a patch of snow.
