Saturday my neighbor Steve and I took his two youngest boys Collin and Ethan to Trial Lake fishing. We started fishing just after 8:00 am. Fish were rising all over the lake, but they weren't too interested in what we had to offer. We tried spinners, flies and streamers behind a bobber. They would follow them in and nip at them a little, but no hookups. So we turned to worms under a bobber, and powerbait on the bottom with a sliding sinker, still nothing.
Ethan even started trying to catch the fish that were taunting us by swimming next to the shore, notice the fish by his bait.
By the time we left Trial Lake the boy's were getting really good at casting.
Around 11:00 we decided to head over to Mirror Lake, and we were glad we did, the fish were more eager to eat a worm there.
Ethan caught the first one, a little Brookie.
Collin had the hot rod and caught the most and biggest fish (see picture below) of the day.

Having a lunch break. It seemed like every time Collin set his rod down his bobber would go under. It was a nice day to be in the mountains. The mosquitoes were a little annoying, but nothing a little bug juice wouldn't take care of.
