Deep Creek 02-18-2012

Rick and I tried a new location in Idaho. We arrived around 8:00 am, Bruce, Mark, Bruce's brother Matt, and two of Matt's friends, Rick and Sherwin had already set up and caught some fish. Matt had a power auger and quickly punched us some holes through the 15" ice.
The interesting thing about ice fishing in Idaho, is that in some locations you can fish with five rods, so we had at least thirty-five holes in the ice.

Rick caught this one using a small jigging rod.

I have fishing story  to share. While the fish and game officers were checking our license's one of Bruce's rods went shooting down the hole, a little while latter one of his other rods starts bouncing, so he reels the fish in and finds another line in the fishes mouth that goes back down the hole in the ice, so he pulls the line up through the hole, and it's his rod that went down the other hole earlier.

Loaded up and ready to leave.
After everyone else had left Rick caught this nice Rainbow.

My home made Jaw Jacker work great, I had two bites and it set the hook both times.

Pineview 01-14-2012

Rick and I met up with Bruce and Mark at Pineview. Fishing was slow, but as always we had a good time.
I thought this was a cool picture, the ice had broken up and then froze again.
